FBK is the top Research Institute in Italy, ranked at the 1st place for scientific excellence within 3 different subject areas and for the economic and social impact according to the latest Italian evaluation of research quality (ANVUR). With its 3,500 square meters of laboratories and scientific infrastructures and a community of over 400 researchers, 140 doctoral students, 200 visiting fellows and thesis students, 700 affiliates, and accredited students combined, FBK acts as a scientific and technological hub, its premises and platforms hosting a lively ecosystem of co-located ventures, spin-offs, projects, and training opportunities. FBK will join the VOT3D project with its 3D Optical Metrology research unit (3DOM).

KGHM CUPRUM

KGHM Cuprum is a Research and Development Centre, whose purpose is to provide comprehensive research and design services to mines. The main recipients of services provided by KGHM Cuprum are Polish copper mines owned by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. KGHM Cuprum participates in many mining industry projects and regularly carries out orders for the mines of KGHM. The company has an aerology laboratory with a qualified staff.

WROCLAW UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

WUST has well-established expertise in the field of underground mining, mining machinery condition monitoring & maintenance. It has been studying and applying numerous signal-processing methods, and got involved in various projects aimed at the automation of the mining sector. WUST has specialists in many fields who are employees of 13 departments. The project will make use of the staff of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology. The Faculty has in its staff people who have knowledge of underground mine ventilation and who cooperate with the mining industry. Employees carry out numerous scientific studies in mines owned by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and publish scientific articles on their basis. These people are competent in analysing the underground environment and changes in the airflow and in modelling the airflow using CFD.

Technology Provider

Hovering Solutions (UAV Autosystems Hovering Solutions Españ) works on designing and manufacturing autonomous flying robots (aerial drones) for indoor/underground scenarios based on the development and implementation of novel software, technology and AD-HOC detailed electronics at the component level. The company specializes in the development of solutions and technical tools focused on specific problems, mainly applicable to mining, civil engineering, and energy.
